Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 16, 2026

The short version

Pastium is built to keep your clipboard private. Your history is stored locally on your Mac. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not track what you copy. Optional sync uses your own private iCloud account, and we never see its contents.

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Pastium (“Pastium,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use the Pastium app for macOS and this website. By using Pastium you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information stored on your device

Pastium is a clipboard manager. To do its job, it stores the items you copy (text, links, colors, code, images, and files) together with metadata such as the source application, content type, and timestamp.

This clipboard history is stored locally on your Mac. It is not transmitted to us or to any third-party server. You control how much is kept and for how long in the app’s settings, and you can delete any item, or your entire history, at any time.

3. Optional iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud Sync, your clipboard history is synchronized across your own devices through your personal iCloud account, using Apple’s infrastructure. This data is tied to your Apple ID and is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data and cannot read its contents. Sync is off by default.

4. Information we don’t collect

The Pastium app does not collect, transmit, or store on our servers:

  • the contents of your clipboard or history;
  • your keystrokes, screen contents, or browsing activity;
  • personal identifiers used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

5. Website and analytics

This website may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic (for example, page views and referring sources). Any such analytics are collected in aggregate and are not used to identify you personally. Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) may be processed by our hosting provider to operate and secure the site.

6. Permissions Pastium requests

Pastium asks macOS for only the permissions it needs to function:

  • Clipboard / pasteboard access: to read what you copy and paste it back when you choose.
  • Accessibility (if granted): to paste into the app you’re using and support keyboard shortcuts.

These permissions are used solely to provide the app’s features on your device.

7. Sensitive content and app exclusions

Pastium can automatically ignore content marked as confidential or transient (such as passwords from a password manager), and you can block specific apps so that anything copied from them is never saved. Detected-sensitive items are hidden until you choose to reveal them. These protections run entirely on your device.

8. Trial and purchases

Pastium offers a 7-day free trial with full features. Pastium is not a monthly subscription. When the trial ends, you can make a one-time purchase to keep all features, or continue on the free plan with a limited set of features. Either way, your existing clipboard history stays on your device.

Any purchase is processed through the Apple App Store. The transaction is handled by Apple, and we do not receive or store your payment details. Purchase processing is subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

9. Data retention and deletion

Because your clipboard history lives on your Mac (and optionally in your iCloud), you are in control of retention. Removing an item, clearing your history, or uninstalling the app deletes the corresponding local data. If iCloud Sync is enabled, deletions propagate to your other devices.

10. Children’s privacy

Pastium is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or this website.

12. Contact us
